Catching Up

Since I haven't done Saturdays blog I am going to combine it with today's and catch everyone up on what happened.

Saturday
On Saturday my mom and my sister were still in town and Jaimee's dad was coming in the morning to visit for the day. We got ready, took showers, played with Simon and then we broke off in seperate groups. My mom, sister and I headed to TGI Fridays's for lunch. It was my first time ever eating there! After that we went to Pier 1 Imports to look around and then went to the local Goodwill just to see where it was. After that my mom took me to go get a Kroger card:) Then we traveled to Target and Meijer to get more stuff and just explore the area to see all the stores around our apartment. We left Target and started to head back home but then we found a Dollar General and decided to stop there. After Dollar General we went back to the aprtment to pick up Jaimee and to go fill up my tire. We made our way to the gas station where we encountered some problems filling up my tires. How many girls does it take to put air in a tire well on Saturday it was 4. We accidently did the wrong tire and didnt realize it until the tire pressure was all the way up to 47. Ahh thats scary since it is supposed to around 30. We could of blown up the tire if I didn't catch the mistake. So we moved to the next tire and again it was the wrong one but I caught it immediately. We moved to the third tire and it was the right one! Yay my tire was now fixed:) With that we went to Trader Joes to see what it was all about. It was pretty neat but we wouldnt go shopping there on a weekly basis. Then we wnt to GFS and we were amazed! Jaimee and I really liked it! It even had all the food supplies that we used at our old job! We soent about an hour there and then we went to the apartment to hang some curtains and say goodbye to my mom and sister.
On Saturday Jaimee and her dad went to Chipotle and then went to Sawyer point. They walked acroos the purple people bridge and Jaimee's dad found a great place! That place is actually were we went yesterday:)
Overall Saturday was a great day!

Monday
Today we had 3 classes, Nur 120, NUR 110, and BIO 111. NUR120 and NUR 110 were both in the mornig and we had to get up at 6 and leave by 6:30. Anyways, after the morning classes we went outside to sit because it was super cold in the college. Then we ate lunch and studied with Bailey ans Sam all the way up until 2:30 when biology class started. We sat in class taking notes and then did a lab with the skin cells from the inside of our cheeks. It was pretty cool! Then we headed to Sam's house to study. We studied and now I am doing this blog. :)

Well that is all. Sorry for the delay in the blog! You'll hear more adventures from Jaimee tomorrow:) Peace Out People!

Bright Sun and Lotsa Fun

So today is Sunday August 28. 2011! Yesterday has not had a blog made yet, that is for Morgan to accomplish when she has time. Meanwhile, i will tell you all about the fun of today!

So we got up to go to church. Morgan, Bailey, and I all decided we wanted to try another church to see what it was like. It was pretty cool! We got there late and we were just thinking "oh well all we are going to miss is a little bit of the worship...not big deal" then Morgan says "this church probably has their sermon first, and then the worship." We all laughed, Nah I've never been to a church like we all said. Sure enough, when we got in there the pastor was already preaching. Just our luck. After the sermon (which was about respecting authority) we had communion and then started worship which was amazing! I loved the music there.

We got out of there after we stopped at the info desk to find out about college groups, and YES, they had one which we plan on checking out sometime soon! We all headed back to the apartment where we made lunch (Florentine chicken ring thanks to Mrs. Allen's recipe :] ) It was really really really good! Then we hung up the rest of the curtains in the apartment. We got that all done after the excruciatingly loud hammering!

Then we decided that it was time to find something to do. we were searching of things to do and stumbled up information about the Riverfest happening this coming up weekend. Boy did we get excited. It is going to have amazing fireworks by the river, food, pouring a million rubber ducky's into the river, and lots of more excitement with the other 1/2 a million people that come each year =)

We decided to go to Sayer point and hang out, so we did. I showed Morgan and bailey the spot that my dad and I found on Saturday. We had fun playing in the waves, taking pictures, and watching the boats go by. The sun was warm and the water cool and it was just a good time.

It was a great time. Around Five, we left and headed back. Bailey left to go home and Morgan and I spent the rest of the evening doing homework. Another busy day with school tomorrow.

Goodnight everyone!

It just drives me crazy!!

So, Friday August 26 2011 was another early morning for Morgan and Me. The good news about this though was that we only had one class which was only an hour and twenty minutes. We got to the school like thirty minutes early (better than late), and sat in the classroom until class began. All we did was take notes over the slide show about safety and stuff. That was easy peasy lemon squeasy. We had the rest of the day ahead of us. We got back to the apartment and ate some lunch, then sat down for some study time because we were determined to get homework finished this day so we could have the whole weekend for adventures. Immediately a problem became evident. Number One apartment guy was being a nuisance AGAIN. Like almost everyday, he had his rap music blasting through our floor. It wasn't loud enough for us to hear the lyrics, just the pounding bass. This drove me insane. The music didn't stop for like two hours, and by then i had enough. I had to leave the apartment. Morgan and I packed up our backpacks and headed to Sawyer Point to get our homework done. Since it was a beautiful day with amazing temperature we both agreed this would be a perfect idea, since we usually don't get out of the apartment much.

It probably took us an hour to get there. The GPS did not show us a way to get there using the interstate. That was frustrating. Later we soon found out why. Morgan forgot to put back in the GPS that it was okay to find an interstate route. But the park was a wonderful idea. We walked until we found some tables right by the tennis courts. We tried to read all the way through the chapter, but it was so long that we couldn't do it all. We did get a little distracted with taking pictures =)

This is a panoramic view of the area we were sitting at. The park is located right next to the Newport river (i believe it is). It was so BEAUTIFUL!

This is the bridge connecting Ohio to Kentucky.

See, we really were studying. I promise you that!

Here are the tennis courts that were right beside the table we were studying at! There are so many of them and are in such good condition! I am so excited for when my foot is better so Morgan and I can play before the winter comes!!

It was my turn to read! As you can see, we were making learning FUN! It actually was a pretty boring chapter to read though. It was about hygein and how to give baths to patients and stuff....

At this point we were ready to take a break from reading and go attempt tennis (that didnt work out too well though).

Our Beautiful Water Bottles =) oh boy i sure drink so much water now that i got that amazing water bottle!!

Were so beautiful...I already know =) haha

Morgan really wanted to stand in the stadium down there with her arms raised. So of course i was willing to take a picture of her. And at this point in time, you can probably assume we were done studying!

So when we were not reading anymore, we attempted to play tennis, but my foot was not up to it. Maybe if i was wearing sneakers, it would have been easier, but flip flops were not so good to be wearing. After that we walked back to the car and drove home. When we got back, we read some more of the book but still didnt get finished before Morgan's mom and sister arrived. And what a surprise they brought with them!

The sweetest, most playful, softest kitten in the whole world!! SIMON!! ( this is the kitten sam is in love with) He is so playful and energetic, and he is just so fun to play with. (side note -- this morning he knocked over my table fan beacuse he didnt like the air blowing on him =P)

After the excitment of seeing simon, the four of us headed out to drive around and see more of our neighborhood. We even found a park two minutes away, payless shoe store, and Dots! That was fun. We also went to TJ Max and the three of us tried on these rediculous hats that i dont know why anyone would want to buy!!

So, after that we were starving and decided we wanted to try Noodles&co. It was so good! we all got something different. We went to Greaters and got some ice cream after that, and then we drove around some more. Finally we headed back to the apartment. It had been a long day and i was tired.

Thats All (for now) Folks!!

=)

This is me with my tennis racket and my pepper spray!! I was prepared!

The Best Picture EVER!!

It's Blog Time!

it is 6:30 and I am going to go ahead and do the blog because Jaimee and i have got to get some homework done tonight. Nothing much really happened today. We got to sleep in this morning though! It was great after having to get up at 5:30 yesterday morning. After we woke up we didn't do anything worth telling about. Around 11 I dedcided it would be a good cleaning day. So i vacuumed all the floors and then jaimee mopped the kitchen and the bathroom. Around 12:30 we left for class. We got to the college like 30 minutes early. Then bio class started at 1:30 and we learned about lipids and all kinds of other stuff that jaimee and I learned in AP Biology in highschool. It was good to refresh on things and re learn them though! We even got to make models of glucose and an amino acid with these balls and connecter peices. It was fun! Then class got out and we had to stop at Bigg's to get some shredded cheese and some other things we forgot on our grocery list 2 days ago. When we got home we made baked ziti for dinner and we just finished eating it. Like I said it hasn't been a very interesting day to tell about but you'll have that. It is time to do some homework the rest of the night. We have one class tomorrow in the morning but that's it. So i am sure tomorrow will be a homework day too. By now i guess you have realized we have lots of homework. Oh well though it will be worth it in the end!

First Day of Clinicals!

Today was an early morning! When i say "early morning" i really mean EARLY morning. Well for me at least. 5:30 was when i heard my mario music sound alike alarm screaming at me to wake up. It was not a fantastic feeling at all. I really had a thought run through my mind that said "ten more minutes, you wont be late" BUT....i was a good girl and rolled out of bed and got ready. I could tell that Morgan was not wanting to be up either becaue i went in her room and she was still laying in bed. We were soon dressed in our oversized white scrubs for clinicals, and we were rolling out at 6:00 to head to the Baldwin Parking Garage. No driving mistakes this morning at all! I was so proud of my navigation skills, and the fact that we were there right on time, AND got a good parking spot at the top right where the shuttle picks us up.Morgan and I are not in the same clinical groups, so when we got to the school we went our seperate ways. Well I can only tell you from my experience, but i was overwhelmed today. I was so stressed with all the stuff they were telling us today, and i felt like my head would expload from all the information they were throwing at me in that six and a half hours worth of time. We were able to go up to the different floors we would be working in the next 18 weeks or so. I am on the geriatrics floor, which means older people. Our floor is super strick on how careful you are being with the patients. Their goal is to reduce the amout of falls that happen on that floor, and they have signs posted on the doors of people with a high risk of falling. This made me a little nervous, but im confident that they will teach me what i need to know. Well, we do have a TON of homework for Nursing 120 clinicals next wednesday, Alot of reading is involved. Next Wednesday we learn proper handwashing, bathing patients, stuff like that. Soon we are actually gonna be working in the hospital which is exciting!! After clinicals, we dropped Bailey off at her place and went home for a few hours before we had to go back for our Ethics class.

Today was a cool day in there. He presented us with the question "Is it right for you to switch to a better seat from your purchased seat at a game?" You really have to think about it. How many of you would switch your ten dollar seat for a fifty dollar seat if that person never showed up? If you could get away with it does it make it ethical? What do you base that answer on? Would you choose not to do it just because you might get caught? Would you do it if everyone else in the stadium did it? What do you think the owners would think if they knew you did it? Would you consider yourself breaking a legal agreement you made when you purchased the ticket? Would it even matter at all?

Thats the kind of stuff we talked about in there. It was so interesting to think about what my thoughts were about it. Well After ethics, we both headed home and morgan made chicken salad sandwiches for dinner while i took a quiz for Nursing 100. We sat in the living room watching an episode of Criminal Minds on the internet and then thats about it. Now im typing this out and about to be done and read my book.

Tomorrow is a good day because we only have one class at 1:30 which is our Biology class.
Goodnight everyone!
Continue to pray for my foot, and for Morgan and I as we are getting into the tough part of nursing school

Oh yeah, i just realized how lucky i am to be in this college. Did you know that at most nursing school, you are on a waiting list for about 2-3 years just to get in your clinicals. WOW! Morgan and I are both starting clinicals our first year! Thank you Lord for this amazing blessing of getting us into a great school. I know it will be tough, but we are here for a reason, and we wouldnt be here if we couldnt do it =)

Goodnight for REAL this time!!

Tuesdays Are Great Days :)

So today is Tuesday and Jaimee and I had our second day of classes today. Well I guess i should say class! Yep thats right only one class today, and to make it even better it didn't start until 5:30pm and only lasted an hour and twenty minutes! We got to sleep in today which was very nice after we had to wake up at 6am yesterday! After we woke up we didn't really do much the first couple hours. Jaimee read her book and I got to skype with Ben! :) As it hit 12 o clock we thought it would be a good idea to start doing homework for our online nursing class. Since we are sharing a book we had to take turns reading it which worked out to be okay. I ate lunch while Jaimee had the book and Jaimee ate lunch while I read the book. Jaimee has yet to finish the complete reading of the first Chapter because it is so long, but I finished it since I got a head start last night before bed. There were lots of things we had to read including the history of nursing, nursing process, and lots of other beginning stuff about being a nurse. It was kinda boring but we know it is necessary. Anyways after I finished reading I got my thinking activity done online which was a short essay. Now all I have to do is take the quiz and I will have Module 1 completed about 4 days in advance! Woo Hoo! As 4:30 rolled around we started getting ready to leave. After we got to the place to be picked up by the shuttle we sat there waiting and waiting and we were afraid that we would not make it to class on time. After about 15 more minutes of waiting a shuttle finally arrive and we made it to class right at 5:30! The class we took today was Ethics. It was interesting, we learned about philosophy and were asked questions like What is a human? A human is a living creature? Well then what is a human made out of? It is made up of matter. So what is matter made up of? Matter is made up of atoms? what are atoms made up of protons, neutrons, and electrons, etc. What are atoms made up of? Energy. So a human is just energy? right?? It was just so weird being told things like oh is that chair really there. Well of course it there I see it. But the teacher would go on to explain and make us think otherwise. Let's just say I am very happy that I am not taking a philosopy class because I find it hard to think that way. Anyways the class got out 20 minutes early and we headed back to the apartment. When we got to the apartment we decided to go shopping at Aldi. We got lots of groceries that should last us 2 weeks! After getting back home at 8 we made some dinner and sat down to watch a criminal minds episode. After that we decided to take showers and then when I got out of the shower Jaimee had been listening to the couple downstairs yell at eachother and bang things around. We just stood there listening for a minute and then they went outside and continued their argument. By the way they have a baby girl. She told him to leave but then he said he isnt leaving without the baby. so now they are both dowstairs still arguing as I type this :/ I feel bad for them and have been praying for them. it is now time to go to bed because we have clinical at 7 am tomorrow which means we will be waking up at 5:30. Yuck. Those were the adverntures today! Please pray for that couple in the apartment below us and that everything works out because from what we have witnessed in the past couple days is that it isn't a very good relationship.

Cincinnati can be good in some ways, but not in other ways...

One thing you learn about Cincinnati, some drivers are so nice and let you over, but some are HORRIBLE and don't let you merge very easily    -_- i learned that quite a few times!!
The wonderful thing about living in Cincy is how close everything you need is to you, but the driving sucks sometimes, and it is SUPER stressful at points. Its all part of the learning experience though.

So today was an interesting experience for Morgan and Me. We learned that everything in Cincinnati is hard to find if you are not familure with your surroundings. This morning we had our first day of classes, we were so excited, but not excited about the time we were supposed to get up. 6:00...yes, that's right SIX IN THE MORNING! That didn't happen for me, i was rolling out of bed at 6:15, which gave me 15 minutes to get ready to leave. So we hurried up and got out to the car. Well....how lucky we were because the trash man pulled right in as we were starting the car to leave. This means there was no getting in or out of the driveway. So, we sat there until he was done taking his dear sweet time. It was now 6:40 and this started to stress us out because we needed to get to the Baldwin Parking Garage at 7:00 for the shuttle to pick us up and bring us to the college. We were pushing it and praying we could make it there without any mistakes. Unfortunately that did not happen. In fact, we got turned around so much, and never did find the garage that morning because we knew that when we finally did make it, we would be late to class. So, plan B came into effect. We parked in the visitors parking in the very back near the heart center behind the hospital. We walked through the hospital with our heavy backpacks and books, out of the hospital, into the college, and to our Nursing 120 classroom on time =) So we sat through Nursing 120, and Nursing 110 in the same class room, and we even got out of class 50 minutes early. This gave us 4 hours and 30 minutes until our A & P class at 2:30. Because we got out of class early, Bailey and Sam both came back to the apartment with Morgan and Me because they didn't want to sit at the college for four and a half hours. We ate lunch there and sat around till one thirty when we decided we needed to leave and find Baldwin. With one mess up, and a phone call to Sam's dad, we FINALLY made it. And guess what, it was the second turn that Morgan and I didn't see this morning. We were SO close to where we needed to be, but yet we couldn't do it this morning. But now that we found it, all we had to do was sit and wait for the shuttle to come, which didn't take too long. We went to A & P and it was actually very interesting. We got to learn stuff rather than spending the whole class going over the rules and such. After that, we got back on the shuttle and headed back to the parking garage. We had to take Bailey home, so as we were driving her back, we saw how backed up the traffic was on 71, so Morgan and I found an alternate route to get home and avoided all that miserable traffic. We even found an Aldi that is like three minutes from where we are!! I cooked dinner tonight, and then after that I  layed on my bed reading until i fell asleep around 7. I'm pretty sure Morgan took a nap too. Now, I'm wide awake and I'm not really tired, just kind of hot. Morgan and I don't have class until 5:30 tomorrow so we don't have to have an early morning tomorrow. Well that's about it for today. I'm interested to see what event happens tomorrow =)

Pray my foot heals, and pray for Morgan and I as we are now getting into college =)

Church, Naps, and of course Chipotle

So today we got the to experience finding a new church. We chose The Hope Church because people recommended us to go there. Bailey picked us up this morning so we could all car pool. We drove for about 15 minutes and we were finally approching our destination. We saw this huge church from the side of the road and that is where the GPS led us. We went inside and saw all these old people sitting in a sanctuary and were taken back because we didnt want to go to a service that just had older people in it. We walked around the corner and then we saw an auditorium where a contemporary service would be help. A guy came up to us and asked us where we were from and why we chose to try this church. So we told him, and well he told us we had the wrong church.. Yeah talk about embarassing.. Anyways the church was called something like The Christ Church. The man told us where Hope Church was located and we left to go there. It was just around the corner so it was understandable that we went to the wrong one. So we went in and tried to find a place to sit. It was packed but finally we found 3 empty seats. The worship started and it was amazing. Then a new pastor to the church came up to preach. After the service was over they were holding a Visitors meeting and we wanted to stay and just ask a question and then leave. So we finally found our way around this big church and made it to the right room. We asked if this church had any college type groups and they did! It is called "THiRST". I am sure we will try it out sometime. After that we left and Bailey dropped us back off at the apartment. We went inside and fixed ourselves some luch well I fixed myself some luch. I has a grilled buffalo chicken salad. It was so good! After that I went to take a nap and Jaimee just layed in bed all afternoon but wasn't able to take a nap. After I woke up we didnt really do anything else. We were starting to get hungry and Jaimee briught up the topic of Chipotle.. Ughh we made this plan not to eat out anymore but we ended up doing it anyways because it just sounded really good! Anyways there will be no more eating our for a long time!! As we brought back Chipotle to our apartment we popped in the movie "Mean Girls" and watched it. We have an early day tomorrow starting with class at 7:30 am. So we will be going to bed soon! The first of many classes start to tomorrow. Wow college is finally here. HERE WE GO!

Foot, Food, Fun, Friends, and Goodbyes...

A smiley face made of post-it notes! You will see how this applys to the blog later in the reading.

Today was full, and i mean full, of things to talk about. So this may be a pretty long entry but today's story's are worth telling.

The first memorable event was not such a good one. I woke up super excited because today was the day i go to see Sam again, and Morgan got to see Ben again. Oh this would be a good day, i could feel it! I got up, stretched, and headed to the bathroom to take a shower and get ready for the morning activities. Right as i picked up the shampoo bottle to wash my hair, it slips from my grasp and hits the foot that i just recently began to walk on comfortably again. As soon as i picked up the bottle, a huge bump the size of an egg can be see on my poor foot. UGH!! seriously...this is not the day for this to be happening. I quickly finished my shower and hobble out of the bathroom into my room where Molly was sitting on the floor. She takes one look and gasps. Yes, it was that bad. Not a good way to begin the morning. For a while i sat on my bed with my foot elevates and ice on my little unfortunate foot. As i sat there and Morgan got ready, Molly was in the kitchen making pumpkin spice muffins, which were AMAZING!!!

Soon it is time to get ready to leave because we had a plan to stop in the mall at Starbucks for Molly and then head to La Rosa's to meet Sam, Ben, and Bailey for lunch. As i hobbled around trying to find something to fit over my swollen foot, Morgan gave me a pair of her shoes to wear. We locked the apartment and got to the car. Suddenly Molly informs us that she left her wallet in the apartment and needs to go get it. I hand her the keys that are attached to my Vera Bradly I.D. clutch thing, and she hurries away to retrieve her wallet. She sure took a long time to get it, but finally she comes out and gets into the car. Off we go to Starbucks.

We get to the mall, where Starbucks is, and while molly is ordering i call Sam to find out how far away he is. 10 minutes he says. We have time to stop inside of Forever 21 to look around for five minutes. Morgan and i both get a pair of sunglasses =) Soon we are off to La Rosa's, but not before Morgan accidentally tries to pull out of a one way turn the wrong way =0 oops!!! I'm sure she wasn't the only person to do it.

Finally we arrive at La Rosa's and sit down with Bailey, not too long later Sam and Ben walk in and sit down. We order our delicious pizza and eat a great lunch, take pictures, and have funny conversation

.After we eat all our pizza, took final bathroom breaks, and split up our bill, we headed out the door for a group picture.

Our first attempt didn't work so well, but it still looks cool!!

After this one, we found another person who could take the picture for us better!

Don't we look so cute?? =) we all had a good time together!!
So after La Rosa's, we headed back to our apartment, the six of us. Boy were we in for a HUGE SURPRISE!!! Walking up the stairs i pull my keys out, unlock the door, and inside this is what we see.

Post-It notes. Everywhere. All over the apartment, in the refrigerator, on the silverware, on the walls, doors, windows, mirrors, shelves, you name it, there were there. On every post-it note was some silly picture or phrase or message or word or letter. Who could have done this?? Who could have gotten into our apartment while we were not there??? Two individuals...Ben and Sam. This is how it happen. Sam and Ben LIED to us about the time arrival that they would be getting her, and Molly was in on this the whole time. They were parked around the corner of the apartment while we were waiting on Molly to get her wallet. Molly did not go inside to get her wallet but to take the apartment key off my ID clutch and leave it inside for Ben and Sam. She ALSO left the apartment door unlocked for the two boys to get right in. So the whole time i had no clue my key was missing and all this suspicious activity from Molly was overlooked. While we were at the mall, Ben and Sam were putting post it notes EVERYWHERE in the apartment. They claim there will be some we wont even find until we move out. Hm we will see about that! Sam also played a game with the post it notes, he put letters on post it notes and set up clues for me to unscramble the letters. It spelled out VANILLA TWILIGHT, which is our song. That was super sweet. Ben made a heart for Morgan in her room and each post it note said "i love you" in a different language. So even though Ben and SAM pulled a prank on us under our noses, it was still a very cute thing to do =)

After the whole post it note fiasco, we sat in the apartment for a while watching Dan in Real Life which Ben and Morgan set up the internet. We got kind of bored, so we decided to head back into town and go to old navy. After walking around that store for a while, Molly told us goodbye because she was going to head back to Richmond. From Old Navy, we went to the mall because Sam wanted to go to the Lego Store and to the Apple store. We didnt stick around too long and from there we decided we would go back to the apartment and look up places to go and eat at. We chose a place called the "Grand Buffet." It was actually very nice and we had good chinese food. Sam and Bailey both ate this unfried squid which had the suctions still on it. Bailey also decided she liked to eat eel. and Sam and Ben ate frog legs. Yuck. Ben learned that frog legs were not crunchy but really had bones inside them =)

We left there and headed back to the apartment again. Bailey left to go home when we got back so now it was time for the four of us to find something to do, and we did. Because it was our last day seeing each other for a while, we decided to split up. Ben took Morgan to Hyde park to see the view of Cincinnati and to find tennis courts, but i don't think they had much luck.

While Morgan was with Ben, Sam and i decided to go to a cool place called Sawyer Point. It was kind of like a park, but huge. It was right beside the Ohio River and across the river you could see Newport Kentucky. The evening was beautiful, and even though my foot was killing me, i still had a wonderful time walking up and down the pathways at Sawyer Point with him. It got late, so we headed back. When we got back to the apartment again we sat for a while with Morgan and Ben who had gotten back a little bit before us. The forty minutes went by quicker than a blink of an eye and soon it was time to say good bye to them. It was super sad. It is really hard saying bye to someone who i haven't been away from for longer than a week in the whole year and nine months that I've been with him. I understand that it is something we both have to do in our lives and i know God will keep us strong in this relationship, just like he will keep Morgan and Ben strong. After the tears and the hugs and the goodbyes they walked out the door and to the car and drove away. It has been so hard for me to say good bye to friends, and it has been very hard to say goodbye to my father who means so much to me, but tonight was so very hard when the door closed as Ben and Sam walked away because they will be missed so much. They are both amazing, Godly men, and everyday i will be praying for a great college experience.

Well that is all for tonight. It has been a wonderful day, also a sad night, but a very memorable day/night as well.
Goodnight everyone =)
New church in the morning!

When Molly Comes Into Town Things Get Interesting

So we start out the day with orientation once again. We can pretty much skip over that part of the day because it was so boring so its just pointless. Now the story begins! After we leave orientation we head over to Red Bank Road to find a walmart! We were nervous about it though because we have been mislead by the GPS fifty thousand times but luckily a walmart existed!!!!!!!!!! Woo Hoo!! Well after getting some necessities for the apartment and some other things we thought we needed (including lunch boxes!) we headed back to the apartment to get ready for the one and only Molly Harrington to arrive!  it was around 5 when we got home and we expected her to get here around 6:30. So we started to make dinner which was sort of a long process but so worth it! We made creamy potato soup!! YUM! Oh by the way we invited our good friend Bailey to come hang out with us too! Yeah talk about fun, but we can get into that later! So Bailey and Molly arrived about the same time just as the yummy buttery biscuits were getting out of the oven.  It was so great for Jaimee and I to be hosts we loved having these 2 girls over to our apartment for dinner!!We all sat down at the table to eat and had some interesting converstaions which were very funny! It seems like we have been laughing all night! Anyways after dinner we sat around for abit and then decided to go to the enourmous Kenwood mall to go to the two-strory Forever 21. (Fun Fact: forever 21 does in fact sell guys clothing which a lot of people don't realize) So we shopped for a while then Molly came up with a genius idea! She thought it would be fun for each of us to pick out an outfit for a different person. So i had molly, molly had jaimers, jaimers had bailey, and bailey had me! It was so much fun and it was funny to see what outfits we picked out for eachother although some of the outfits were cute. After that we realized the mall closed at 9 :( yeah that was depressing because we had only been to one store. Oh well I am sure we will go back tomorrow! So we left the mall to go find the Old Navy down the road to see if it was open and of course it wasn't. Then, we decided we would go to Graeter's. Well Bailey drove right past the turn because we didn't tell her where to go. So we turn down some random street and Bailey pulls into this creepy parking lot to turn around. She backs up really fast and on we go again. We start traveling back down the road and turn on the road it was supposed to be on yet we didnt find it. This time Bailey's tom tom was telling us to turn around. So right as we realized that guess what Bailey did. She made a U-turn. Wow we were kinda being a bit crazy but thats okay:)  As we were driving back down the road we saw the Grater's, pulled in, and we were so excited. We went inside and ordered and a crazy thing happend. Jaimee ordered a drink and she was the last person to ever have it! They were discontinuing that item and Jaimee got to be the final person to have it! We decided that she should be recognized or something because she was so special!  We left and now we are back at the apartment watching a movie! Oh and we got to skype with Leanne and Lillia :) We are wrapping up the night and today was the day we were supposed to hook up our internet but since we had had people over today we decided we would wait until tomorrow. Tomorrow should be so fun!! The boyfriends are coming to town!!!!!:)
On our way to the college we saw people protesting against abortion infront of a planned parenthood facility. (sorry you cant see it very well it was taken from a window)

Boatrides, clogged toilet, and more stuff to talk about...

So today was actually a very interesting day although not very much happened as the past few days. I (Jaimee) started out the day by waking up about seven, laying in bed until eight, and then deciding i would just go ahead and get up. While Morgan still slept, i figured i would try and upload some pictures in a blog entry. It was a success!! When i was all finished with that i went into the bathroom to take a shower. Something happened that one would never expect to happen while taking a shower. I stepped on a tiny piece of glass that was hidden on the floor of the tub. I guess the maitence guy forgot to clean all the glass up after he installed the vent in the bathroom window. So after struggling to find a band aid and then finishing my shower i was able to get out and continue with my day.

Both Morgan and I finished getting ready and headed out to the car to drive to Newport Kentucky for our boat ride! We were actually excited. The GPS again messed us up minutes before getting there, but luckily we planned for a mishap and still got there without being late. When we got in there to get our name tags and instructions Morgan and I found out that we would not even be sitting at the same table =( and to make matters worse, we found out that neither of us was even sitting with Bailey either!!! We sucked it up and got onto the boat and found our table. Surprisingly, we still had fun even though we didn't know the people we were sitting with. The fun part was getting to know new people that we would be with the next two years of nursing school. We played silly games like BINGO, and this game where you walk around and try to get signatures from different people who have completed a certain task at some point in their life such as speaking two different languages, or riding on a sail boat. I was able to get a signature for every single box and Morgan was able to as well. After the games they did raffel drawings and Morgan even won two movie tickets to an AMC movie theatre which was really cool.

Near the end of the boat ride, my stomach began to hurt for certain reasons and I was super glad to be able to leave. Unfortunatly it took forever to get off the boat. When we got back to my car we got out of there as quick as possible. By the time we got home i was in miserable pain. It hurt to stand, sit, and lay down. I took some medicine and tried to bear the pain from all the cramping in my poor little tummy. I had to use the bathroom, so i did. And the stupid toilet got clogged.....................................................which is both embarrasing and annoying because we had not gotten around to buying a plunger yet. I was still in pain so i crawled into Morgans room and told her the whole situation. Because Morgan was on Skype with Ben, he soon overheard everything that happend. As i was curled up in a ball on Morgans bedroom floor, i begged and begged for her to run down to CVS, or dollar general to buy a plunger. Thinking back, i dont really know why it was of high importance at that moment for her to get one. Being as nice of a friend as she is, she said goodbye to Ben and did as i asked.

After about an hour later, the medicine kicked in and i was able to function again. I had a bowl of ice cream and layed on my bed playing angry birds. Some time after that i decided today was the day i would get a new laptop. Morgan and I found the nearest best buy and when we got there we set out in search oh the perfect laptop! I found it. A pavilion dm4 complete with a disk drive, fingerprint reader, 14 in screen, and other things that i dont recal at this moment in time. I like it alot, but  i have been frusterated with trying to find out how to work the fingerprint reader. It is supposed to let you log into websites by just swiping your fingerprint but i have no clue how to make that happen. Hopefully i can figure it out but until i do i will have to do things the hard way and type out my user name and password like everyone else :P

That is all for now. 2nd orientation in the morning =( im sure it will be boring!

Please continue to pray for Morgan and I as we are still adjusting. Also pray we find a good church (we have one in mind) and pray that things go well on Monday when we start classes!

Time for some much needed pictures!!

As you can see this is our lovely living room. Its not yet completed because we really would like to add some blue curtains, and we also have two new pictures to hang up in there. Its a very comfortable room to be in though especially in the evening (if it hasn't been 101 degrees outside that day) because with the windows open you feel a nice breeze coming in.

This is another view of the living room from the door.

This room belongs to me (Jaimee) you can probably tell for those who know that i like the color green. :)

Now this room belongs to Morgan, because she loves the color blue. It would be really nice to get curtains hung up in all the rooms to make it look more completed.

The bathroom is one of my favorites, but only because of the color of the bathroom. Morgan and I put a lot of effort into making sure all the colors looked good together! The only thing that bothers us a tiny bit is the fact that the sink is still yellow and everything else is white!!!

This next one is of the kitchen. This is the place where all the cooking and eating and cleaning and sweeping and washing dishes takes place. Seriously, this is the room that requires the most attention because there is always something to clean up in there. Thought it does demand alot of our time to clean it, the room still is a nice pretty room with the theme color of red. You can see our new (old) table that my mom did some work on. You can also see the pretty flowers on the table that Ben bought for Morgan. Again, we would love to have red curtains hanging up in here.

Here is Morgan and Me sitting on the couch as Morgan writes one of the blogs. Actually this is the first one i have gotten to write ='( lol i am sure i will be write a lot more.

This is last night as Morgan wrote the Blog about our fantastic orientation day ha ha.

And finally Morgan decides she wants to take a candid picture of me! I really was completely unaware!

Well, that is all the pictures for now! I'm sure we will have another entry up tonight about our crazy adventures on the boat ride this afternoon.

Orientation.. hmm I bet this will be exciting!!! not....

Okay so today we had our first day of orientation! Well we thought orientation was supposed to be fun because that's what we have always heard from other college students. We thought we would meet lots of new people and do some activities. haha that was not the case though. The whole day (9-3) consisted of sitting in different classrooms listening to people talk about pretty much useless information that we did not even care about. There was a couple things that we found helpful but other than that the 6 hour day was just boring and we are not looking forward to Friday. After the dean guy wrapped up our last session around 3:10 we were very anxious to get out the doors! We headed back to the apartment and we weren't even in the apartment 10 minutes when the Internet guy came and we expected he would fix it! Of course that wasn't the case and he couldn't even find our name in the Cincinnati bell system. So it was back to square one and I (Morgan) had to call Cincinnati bell for the hundredth time this week. After talking to the guy we found the simple solution of why everything wasn't working. My account was still pending and all I needed to do was show them a picture I.D. I wish they would have just told me that the first time. So now we should have Internet by Friday! As we walked out the door and got into the car a man started to approach us. I yelled to Jaimee to lock the doors! When we listened to what he was asking he was telling us he had no money and needed to get to Dayton. We gave him short answers and just said we could not help him. Yeah talk about scary. We were so scared!! Then we were off to the Kenwood mall to meet up with Bailey. We went to Chipotle and then traveled back to the apartment to play poker. In the middle of poker we decided to walk down to the CVS to get some ice cream:) Now we are just sitting around talking. once again it was an eventful day including more struggles with Internet, and an encounter with another scary man. Gezz living in Cincinnati is so different than Richmond!

The First Day At The Apartment.

After our first night in the apartment we are now feeling more of the excitement rather than the sadness that we were feeling about the goodbyes. The goodbyes were so hard but now that we have been here a full day we are finally starting to feel like this our home! Our first day was an eventful day to say the least. We got out of bed around 8 and started the day off with a tv show on hulu. After relaxing a while longer we decided it was time to start our day. After we got ready we got in the car to head to DuBois bookstore to pick up a nursing packet. As we parked the car on the street we got to use our very first parking meter! After that we headed back to Kenwood to get the wireless modem and then to get groceries. We stopped at the Family Dollar and found 2 more pictures for our living room! As we walked out of the store we saw an interesting scene with a man yelling at the top of his lungs to a person on the phone. It kinda scared us and we were happy to get back in the car! Moving on to more grocery shopping we punched in the Kroger into the GPS and were on our way. Well after being mislead to nonexistent stores 3 times we finally gave up and went to some local grocery store which ended up being great!! Finally, our shopping was done and we got to get off the crazy roads of Cincinnati. When we got home we failed to set up the Internet and so now we have to have some guy come and fix it tomorrow. We hope it doesnt cost anything!! the rest of the evening was great and relaxful! We made a great dinner of Taco chicken stack-ups and guacamole! Now we plan to watch Tangled :) We were going to upload some pictures of the apartment but we cant because the internet is being super slow. So that will have to wait till tomorrow! That's all for now :) Byeeeee!
